Day 97: Grilled Cheese Takeover

While it doesn’t happen often, occasionally your large featherless assistant will prepare a meal and (gasp!) forget to offer it to you for first dibs.

Luckily, this can be easily rectified.

You simply need to execute a “grilled cheese takeover” so you can drill the steps with her until she can remember them on her own.

Mom? Did you forget something?

Mom? Did you forget something?

It's okay - we all forget sometimes.

It’s okay – we all forget sometimes.

We will keep training until you can remember all the steps in order - no problem.

We will just keep training until you can remember all the steps in order – no problem.

Step 1: prepare delicious grilled cheese.

Step 1: prepare delicious grilled cheese.

Step 2: offer delicious grilled cheese to the flock member with the most feathers (aka the "alpha flock member) for taste-testing.

Step 2: offer delicious grilled cheese to the flock member with the most feathers (aka the “alpha flock member) for taste-testing.

Wait until the "alpha" flock member is full.

Step 3: wait until the “alpha” flock member is full (signified by movement away from the remains of the grilled cheese) to take your portion.

Easy, right? Now you try it!

  1. How cute! I wasn’t aware i could feed my tiel grilled cheese! How do you cook it where its safe for them to eat? I wanna try it now too 😄

    • Well, it definitely isn’t on the “officially approved” list, but just try keeping my Pearl away from one when he sees it! He mostly just eats the bread part and flings the crumbs, so it is part snack/part fun 🙂

  2. Yep, Charlie says Pearl was right every step as he outlined was in correct order. Charlie said I should pin this by the stove to remind me and maybe Pearl’s mother should do the same.
