Live amongst the large featherless beings for long enough, and you eventually realize they come in all shapes and sizes.

But if you happen to be the only avian in your flock, you may not instantly realize the same principle applies to your own kind as well.

Here, what works best is to look for certain telltale characteristics to help you accurately guess a newcomer’s affiliations.
