Everyone thinks that “acting” is so easy.
You show up, look very cute, say a few lines, pose for press photos and head home with a thick stack of waffles to enjoy.
But hard-working actors would tell the story differently.
There are the talent-free co-stars, the difficult props, the paparazzi….not to mention the totally inadequate snack and nap breaks (which everyone knows are contractually required).
But true actors persevere for one reason and one reason only….the fans.
On that note, Love & Feathers is proud to present the tireless and hard-working actor Pearl Cutts in his latest one-avian play:
As the audience walks in, they see the curtain closed across the stage….sort of. It almost looks like, well, like someone has been chewing on it. Then, just as everyone is finding their seats, the lights go out and the curtain whips open to reveal a mysterious shiny – something.
The star appears and heads straight to it.
Any further dialogue is drowned out by the stampede of large featherless paparazzi holding rectangular flashing devices of all sizes. All are pointed straight at the star. Some of the crews are even dangling toasted waffles in a (totally transparent, effective) bid to get the star to look in their direction first.
Suddenly the MommyGuard appears. She has brought backup. There is a very tall and a very small featherless being standing behind her who immediately rush to the star’s side. The star climbs up onto the very tall being’s shoulder as the small being begins to scold the paparazzi about interfering with her grandbird’s contractually required waffle snack break.
Not surprisingly, the paparazzi look very ashamed and begin to apologize profusely. The MommyGuard just stands back, arms crossed, looking vindicated, while the star contentedly chomps on a fresh toasted waffle from the Small Chef Bakery.
